How to Reach?

By flight

There is no direct flight connectivity to Varkala. The nearest airport is in Thiruvananthapuram, around 40 km away from the same. Taxis are easily available from the airport to Varkala. Nearest Airport: Trivandrum International Airport (TRV) - 36 kms from Varkala

By road

Regular bus services ply to and fro the city of Varkala. They operate on a daily basis, whether day or night, from places like Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Alappuzha, etc. You can also take shared taxis or cabs for the same route.

By train

Varkala is well connected to the rest of India by railways as well. Varkala Sivagiri Railway Station is the principal railway junction serving the city of Varkala. Local transport like autorickshaws and taxis are easily available outside the railway station.

A diminutive town, it can be accessed by using auto rickshaws or even by walking.

How To Prepare?

Always wear a personal flotation device (PFD) and never take it off while on the water.
Dress for the water temperature, not the air temperature; this may mean wearing a wetsuit or dry suit.
Dress for sun protection.
Do not forget sunscreen.
Carry a dry towel and a handy day bag.

6 am: Depart to the mangroves

Post a 20 mins drive through the village, arrive at the mangroves and start the standup experience
