This adventure is the perfect introduction to Portugal for first-timers. Over the course of a week, you'll explore Lisbon's exciting food and culture scene, take scenic day-trips to historic villages, and walk through Porto's UNESCO-listed city center.
Finish in the oldest wine region in the world before returning to Lisbon by way of the country's medieval capital: Coimbre.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Lisbon - Food! Food! Food!

Take part in a gourmet food tour in Lisbon—a great way to experience the city for the first time! meander through a series of authentic winding alleys tasting the incredible flavors of Portuguese gastronomy, especially in the neighborhood of Campo de Ourique—practically a city within the city—that sets the food culture and gastronomic trends of Lisbon.

Overnight in Lisbon.

Day 2 - Explore Lisbon With A Local

With a local insider to guide you, and a good bike to ride a bicycle tour can be one of the best ways to discover our beautiful Lisboa!

You will meet traditional Portuguese life far away from the tourist crowds, ride through some of the most lovely parks of our city and find out some of the best places in Lisbon that no one told you about. On this three hours ride, you will discover zones of the city which you would't go to otherwise, but I consider as must-gos in Lisbon!

Day 3 - Day-Trip To Sintra, Cascais & Estoril

Sintra. This village—about 30 minutes by car from the capital—is a harmonic combination of history and fantasy, described as a “glorious Eden” by the British poet Lord Byron in the 18th century.

Your next stop will be the Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of Portugal and mainland Europe. Enjoy the gorgeous views across the Atlantic Ocean as waves crash onto the shore. On the return trip to Lisbon, you will have time to appreciate the fishing harbor and tourist center of Cascais, the former summer residence of the Portuguese royal family, and nowadays an excellent spot for surfing. You'll also be able to visit the luxury entertainment town of Estoril, known for its casino (the largest in Europe) and attractive gardens.

Day 4 - Transfer To Porto - City Tour

Visit Porto SEA LIFE Aquarium to see exciting marine displays with sharks, rays, turtles and Humboldt penguins, talks & feeding demonstrations.

Day 5 - Day Trip To Espinho

There’s a raised promenade tracing the beach, running past restaurants and with a wall where people meet up and hang out.

Surf shops and schools are along the strip, as the beach gets a reliable hollow beach break.

Praia da Baía also shelves gradually, so the waves break quite a long way you, leaving a large space with knee-high water and pools of water when the tide goes out.

Day 6 - Douro Valley Day Trip

Imagine this: a scenic road trip from Porto to explore Douro Valley with stops along the way to discover viewpoints, villages, incredible nature, and cultural gems. Sounds like a dream? No, it’s possible on a Withlocals day trip with a local host leading the way!
