How To Prepare?
The theme of this Italy packing list is “You will walk a lot.” Every day of your Italian vacation will be a scrambled version of this:
-Gather your camera, jacket, money, passport, and snacks into your day bag.
-Pack one nicer outfit for evenings out
-2 pair of pants, shorts, or skirts 4 tops; three short sleeve, some long sleeve
-1 light jacket or wrap 1 pair solid walking shoes
-1 nicer dress or dress shirt 3 pair of socks Hat Small daypack that’s comfortable to carry
-Anti-Nausea meds (if you’re prone to motion sickness, you’ll be on and off of boats daily)
-Reusable water bottle, don’t add plastic trash to the garbage
-Sunglasses Camera (trust me, you’re going to want to take pictures)
-A street map of Venice, yes really, Google’s little blue dot on the map leaps around like a frog and is hopelessly lost much of the time
-A scarf or shawl

It’s hard to beat Italy’s capital city. One of our tips for traveling to Italy alone is to map out a little afternoon walking tour for yourself. To hit the iconic sites, start at Piazza Venezia and walk to both Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, before ending at the Trevi Fountain.
Get into the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum in central Rome through the fast track entrance with a combined package. Enjoy a hassle-free experience at your own pace. Marvel at the remains of some of the greatest monuments of the Roman Republic.
