How to Reach?
Nearest airport is Agartala Airport from where you can take a taxi or cab to reach your destination in Agartala. The Agartala railway station has two expressways passing through it which connect the majority of cities right from Delhi up till Calcutta. If you plan your trip via road, then NH8 connects Agartala to the majority of cities in north India.
Itinerary
Your first morning on this wonderful tour will start with a scrumptious breakfast.
Agartala is famous for its terrains which are full of green pastures, hills, and beautiful valleys. The main attraction of this place is Ujjayanta Palace.
The palace is known for its architecture which has three domes, tiled floors, carved wooden ceilings, and beautifully crafted doors. Also, there is a Mughal-style garden on the outside of this royal palace.
Followed by visiting local markets of Tripura and then we proceed to have our traditional dinner at a local restaraunt.
This Morning drives towards Dumboor Lake. Here you’ll have the opportunity to relish some astonishing views of the hills from the group of 48 islands. While spending a day here, you will also indulge in bird watching and boating activities.

A four- to five-hour drive from Jampui Hills, Unakoti is home to humongous rock sculptures and carvings of gods and goddesses dating back to the 9th or 10th century, including the huge bas-relief sculptures of Shiva’s head that are regarded as the largest in India. Take a short walk to the top of the hillock, where you will find some stone figures housed in temples; others are kept under lock and key.
It was built by the Maharaja of Tripura, Bir Bikram Kishore Debbarma Manikya (1908-1947), as his summer palace. It was the king’s idea to build the palace in the middle of Rudrasagar Lake, which boasts beautiful architectural designs. Also, the palace structure displays Maharaja’s great taste and intelligence in blending both Muslim and Hindu cultures, and tradition in the architectural designs.
Neermahal is one such place that deserves some bit of your time and attention. Its extraordinary architecture and beautiful layouts will mesmerise you.
It took around nine years to build this palace that has 24 rooms inside. The eastern side of the palace has an open-air theatre, which hosts cultural and public events, whereas the western side is for the royal family to reside. There are proper provisions for servants too.
The water palace has beautiful gardens, fountains, and a courtyard too, thereby creating the perfect ambience for some peaceful time. The exquisite architectural designs and the watery ambience of this area is such a marvellous combination that infuses curiosity among the visitors.
The palace turns into a beautiful sight during night when its reflection can be seen on the water. You just have to spare some time to wander around and take in the beauty.
